Last week I hardboiled some eggs. I did everything normally. I placed the water in a pot on the stove, brought it to a near boil, pulled the eggs - so perfect and round - out of the fridge and prepared to place them into the water. As I was setting the second egg into the water I noticed cracks rapidly spreading along the surface of the shell. As it touched the water the egg threatened to spill it's golden contents into the pan below. I removed the egg from the heat and placed it back in the tray.
It was like nothing ever happened.
The egg regained a smooth shell and I could only see a faint outline of what had been a large crack seconds prior.
Proverbs 28:13 He who conceals his transgressions will not prosper, But he who confesses and forsakes them will find compassion.
1 John 1:9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
What are the "cracks" in our lives that only reveal themselves when the heat is on us? What are our shells that we use to cover up those cracks? What do you need to confess this week so that you can live more fully into the kingdom?
